Located in a quiet neighbourhood in Juhu, the design of this 2BHK belonging to a middle aged couple, reflects their need for a contemporary home with a neat, clutter free aesthetic. The true potential of the space was realised after stripping the apartment down to its bare shell, and reorganising the spaces to create a home that exhibits a sense of openness, yet catering to their functional needs. A combination of wooden textures and a solid white/cream colour palette was key to creating a home, that exuded warmth along with maintaining a contemporary feel. Decluttering was a core principle opted in the decision making of this home's design process.

With a beautiful view of greenery from the living room, a balcony like set up with wooden finishes was created, behaving like an “in between space,” one with a nostalgic feel, that serves as a bridge between the inside and the outside.

By removing the fixed ledge in the den room and opting for flexible furniture such as a sofa cum bed and a side table that can double up as a work table, the design layout allowed for freedom of movement along with creating the illusion of a home, that is larger than it actually is.

The aim was to give them a home with thoughtfully created spaces that come together harmoniously, reflecting a design approach focused on openness and modernity.
